ABOUT US

Since the arrival of Josué Cellier in the Cape of Good Hope in 1700, the Cillié family has been rooted in a legacy of agricultural excellence. Passed down through generations, a deep respect for historical roots, the land, and its stewards has been a guiding principle.

Originating from Huguenot refugees, the family's viticulture expertise from the French winelands has been a pivotal contribution. Piet Cillié, a pioneer and innovator, reshaped the family's trajectory, excelling in fruit cultivation and processing.

His son, Pieter Malan Cillié, continued the legacy, venturing into apple and pear cultivation at Die Bos. Koos Cillié, Rossouw's father, expanded the family's influence in the Cold Bokkeveld.

Rossouw, succeeding his father in 1993, has further developed Laastedrif Agri into a conglomerate of six farms, each with unique niche products. Rooted in sustainable practices, these farms, strategically located across different regions, ensure year-round production.

Beyond exporting fruits, the focus on high-quality vegetables has led to value-added products, including processed beetroot and sweet potato chips. This commitment not only provides healthy and affordable food for South Africa but also lays the foundation for a fruitful legacy for generations to come.
